The most remarkable feature of Irfan Ali’s performance is the sheer joy he projects while singing. His boundless energy and engaging persona draws the audience in a warm embrace, as they become an active participant as well. He is just as memorable while rendering soulful, romantic numbers as he is with performing bombastic qawwalis and bhangras. Irfan has the rare talent of seamlessly covering styles from Mohammad Rafi to Sonu Nigham, or from traditional Hindi to Punjabi folk. Every concert with Irfan is an acoustic awakening leaving the audience spellbound with awestruck admiration.
“Tera jalwa jisne dekha who tera ho gaya.” Anyone who has experienced Ali Irfan’s incredible singing has become his instant fan. Most of my friends come to concerts only because they know Irfan will be singing. And from the get-go, they keep nagging me like little kids about when Irfan will come on the stage. Once Ali Irfan is on the stage, it is easier to tame a dragon than to tame a crowd who are swaying to his singing. They don’t want the concert to end, and even though he gives them the best musical evening they ever had, they remain greedy for more. It is an honor to know him in person, because not only is he an exceptional singer, but also fully invested in supporting every cultural event of the community, nurturing upcoming musical talents and in helping the community beyond just music. As I tell my town residents, he is the pride of our South Asian community.
I first heard Ali Irfan singing at a private party in my house. The moment he started singing, I dropped everything and was glued to my seat. He had me captivated for hours. I absolutely LOVED his rendition of Rafi songs. His performance was spectacular, riveting and very powerful. After that evening, I attended several concerts where I have seen him charm the audience not only with his soulful voice, but also with his engaging personality. He has immense talent, and he can adapt his style to suit any occasion or venue.
Ali Irfan’s performances are complete and holistic! The emotions and lyrics are in sync, but most importantly is how he connects with the audiences…the infectious energy and the passion is unmatched. What is amazing is that he is a versatile singer and does justice to all genres. Whether he is singing old time favorites, or the latest songs; the atmosphere is electric and the songs have never sounded better. Lastly, on numerous occasions, Ali steps off the stage while performing to interact with the crowd which shows his humility. Looking forward to his upcoming shows!
I had the honor to hear Ali Irfan’s soulful melodious voice two years back on social media, and since that day, I was eager to meet and hear him in person! Luckily, I had the opportunity to hear his soothing and captivating voice in person. Ali is an amazing human being with loads of modesty and speaks and connects deeply to his audience through his melodies. His strong and magnificent voice is capable of brightening the room as well as our hearts. It’s been two years since I have known Ali Irfan and he has been an inspiration. They say that “music is the universal language that everyone speaks” and Ali Irfan’s soul penetrating performances resonate with that saying.
I have attended Ali Irfan’s live shows many times in the last three years. He is a talented and versatile singer who captivates the audience with his euphonious voice. His vocal range is incredible. Ali has a powerful voice, great tone and good control on high notes. His ability to do lots of tricks in the song depicts his unique stye. Ali is not only a good singer but a good performer and therefore connects well with the audience. He sings a wide variety of Bollywood songs from old to new, bhajans, ghazals and qawwali’s.
I first had the pleasure of meeting Ali Irfan at a fundraising concert in September 2022. I was instantly impressed with his musical talents, broad vocal range and charismatic personality. That evening, I witnessed a vibrant and brilliant performer on stage. It was unlike any musical performance I had ever seen! I also came to know that in addition to performing at events professionally, Ali routinely volunteers his time to support noble local/global causes, and is a well-respected community leader. What a wonderful human being! I never miss an opportunity to hear him sing.
Ali Irfan is an amazing artist with a voice like Mohd Rafi ji! He brings a great diversity with his song selections and his singing touches the heart of the audience to connect them with the emotion of every song! When he is on stage performing, he not only captures people’s hearts with his singing but also mesmerizes people with his charming personality and vibrant energy. He connects with every single audience. We really enjoy his shows!
We attended a recent Eid Milan party in PA where Ali Irfan was performing. Needless to say that he left us breathless. He electrified the crowd with his beautiful silky smooth voice. It was unbelievable how he managed to captivate over 150 attendants with ease. A true maestro of vocals and a true showman, Ali Irfan is bound to make any event a night to remember!
I first met Ali Irfan two years ago. It was a small group of music lovers and amateur singers in a home setting. I have never been more impressed listening to a singing voice for the first time, as I was after I heard Irfan. He sang 4-5 songs that evening. Each song was different from the other, originally sung by different singers, different moods and styles…and he was smooth and effortless in all of them. Not only that, it seemed like the songs were all made for him. He made every song his own, bringing in just the right level of emotion needed to get the intent of the song across to the audience. I have always believed that a good singer is one who communicates the emotions needed to get the intent of the song across to the audience. And Irfan does that naturally. Since that evening, I have had the opportunity to listen to Irfan again numerous times, and in more professional sound and audience settings, I may add. And he continues to amaze and entertain me. His versatility aids him tremendously on stage, and he’s a natural entertainer. He exudes tons of energy while he takes the audience along on a journey and manages to still stay true to the singing side of the equation, which not many singers are able to balance.
A singer whose vocal control is impressive, who hits high notes with ease and brings unique energy on stage that sets him apart from the rest. A singer who can hold an audience’s attention by his captivating performance. His singing style has a lot of variations and has the power to connect our soul emotionally. He is none other than SaReGaMa and Indian Idol fame Ali Irfan! I would not miss his concerts at any point.
My first meeting with Ali Irfan happened during the rehearsals of Arbaaz Khan night in 2023. He was also one of the performers along with me. In the same year, we both performed at the IFAB Fashion and Music Awards. He has showcased his incredible vocal range and captivating stage presence in both events. He has an exceptional talent for connecting with the audience and conveyed his passion through his body language. Furthermore, he excelled as an emcee, effortlessly navigating the stage and ensuring the event’s success. I wish him all the best on his artistic journey!
